What do people do?
Many Christians in India to attend special religious services or praying Friday. Some people also fast or abstain from meat that day. Many Christians, parades and outdoor play to portray the last days and hours of Jesus' life in some parts of India.

Friday is a day of sadness, in which the churches are empty and dark. Services are held in the afternoon. Many churches have a bitter drink prepared from leaves, vinegar and other ingredients. This drink is for everyone to taste after the service.

Prayer meetings and parades can cause major disruption to local traffic. This is especially true in areas with strong Christian population.

Background
Friday is the day on which Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. This is an important event in Christianity, because it represents the sacrifices and sufferings of Jesus' life. Crucifixion was the culmination of a number of events in Holy Week, including "triumphant return to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, Jesus washing the feet of the disciples of Jesus, and Jesus' last supper on Holy Thursday. Rashtriya Vigyan Evam Sanchar Parishad Prodoyogiki (RVPSP) (National Council of Science Communication and Technology) of the Ministry of Science and Technology celebrates National Science Day (NSD) to popularize the benefits of scientific knowledge and ownership pratical.

Various activities are organized day as debates, quiz competitions, exhibitions, conferences, etc., in which students, students and teachers also participate.

Each year a different theme is chosen and all programs and activities are based on this theme.

The day is celebrated in honor of Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman for his invention of the "Raman effect" February 28, 1928.

Martyrs Day Faces Tear Gas As Marches Move Into Manama 

Bahrain security forces fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse anti-regime protesters gathering to commemorate the martyrs of the capital Manama.
Hundreds of demonstrators again took to the streets of the capital on Monday on the occasion of the annual commemoration of two protesters by security forces martyrs Al Khalifa regime in 1994.

Outraged protesters chanted slogans against the regime in the streets, where police in Bahrain tried to disperse them with stun grenades and tear gas.

According to reports, the Bahraini army had set up checkpoints and extended patrols in the capital prior to the event Monday.

In a similar approach, on Sunday, Saudi-backed forces in Bahrain have attacked hundreds of demonstrators who censored a speech by King Hamad Annual bin Isa Al Khalifa, in which he praised the security forces of the country.

The Bahraini uprising began in February 2011. The regime immediately launched a brutal crackdown and called on the Saudi-led forces from the Persian Gulf Arab States neighbors to help crush the protests.

Bahraini protesters say they will continue to organize protests until their demands for the creation of a democratically elected government and an end to human rights violations are met.

Government of India has declared January 12th National Youth Day in 1984. Today marks the birthday of the great Indian philosopher, Swami Vivekananda, whose teachings are the greatest asset philosophical countries. The motto of the Youth Day statement on the date of birth of this philosophical guru was motivating and inculcating these pious ideals for generations to come.

According to the citation of the Government of India's Communication, "it was felt that the philosophy of Swami ji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian youth."

Celebration

National Youth Day is observed with great devotion to Swami Vivekananda at the headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission centers and their branches.

Members of organizations observe anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in different ways. Anniversary celebrations of Swami, according to Hindu calendar typical follow Hindu way of celebrations.

Anniversary of Vivekananda according to Indian Almanac (Vishuddha Siddhanta Almanac) is on Saptami tithi Pausha Krishna, which falls on different dates in the English calendar every year. Thus, as reported by the Indian government, the anniversary of Vivekananda is celebrated every year on January 12th as National Youth Day as the date is fixed for each year according to the Gregorian calenda.
